Presidents' Day is officially here, and with it comes (surprise, surprise) a load of juicy PC gaming deals. Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg all started their sales events early, but now that it's Presidents' Day the discounts are truly out in force. This doesn't mean that you should rush out and grab the first thing that catches your eye, though.

For one, this isn't Black Friday or Cyber Monday, so don't expect prices to be hacked right down across the board. That doesn't mean there aren't some good deals out there, though, and that's where we come in, as we'll be keeping this hub updated with all the best gaming PC deals we've spotted in the sales.

A last-gen gaming laptop or desktop PC is still worth buying, even though there's a raft of new chips from AMD, Intel, and Nvidia. And when it comes to monitors, keyboards, mice, and the like, there is always a great deal to be found. Whether it's a new 4K OLED monitor or just an extra SSD to store your Steam library on, you can be sure to find something that suits your needs and budget.

The exception to that is a high-end graphics card. Stocks of Nvidia's latest and last gen RTX GPUs are very low, and it's only lower-tier models from AMD and Nvidia that can be found in large numbers, and even those are starting to look a little scarce. The situation will improve in time but Presidents' Day will be long gone by then!

When is Presidents' Day 2025?

Presidents' Day 2025 is today, Monday February 17, although the sale event has been ongoing for a few days now.

What does 'price watch' mean?

We've added a new "price watch" qualifier to all our individual deals, making it easy to see whether a price has gone up 🔼 or down 🔽 since we last checked it out. It's important to note that any deal in this guide (even if it's slightly risen in price) is still one of our top picks, as we only show you deals that are actually worth buying.

Presidents' Day PC gaming deals

1. Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 | RTX 4070 | Core i7 13620H | 16-inch | 1080p | 165 Hz | 16 GB DDR4-3200 | 512 GB SSD | $1,599.99 $1,079.99 at Best Buy (save $500)

1. Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 | RTX 4070 | Core i7 13620H | 16-inch | 1080p | 165 Hz | 16 GB DDR4-3200 | 512 GB SSD | $1,599.99 $1,079.99 at Best Buy (save $500)
This might not be one of the later models with an OLED screen, but at this price, it's absolutely worth serious consideration. The previous generation G16 is still superbly slim and portable, its RTX 4070 is more than capable of pumping lots of pixels to that 1080p display, and it's simply a lovely thing to own. The only major drawback is the size of that SSD, but swapping in a cheap 1 TB model is no big deal, and is highly encouraged.

2. ABS Cyclone Aqua | Core i5 14400F | RTX 4070 | 32 GB DDR5-6000 | 1 TB SSD |$1,599.99$1,199.99 at Newegg (save $400)

With high-end gaming PCs selling out left, right, and centre in the wake of the RTX 50-series launch, rigs like this are a rare thing. The RTX 4070 and Core i5 14400F combo isn't at the top-end of performance, but it offers all you need for some respectable 1440p in modern games, and maybe even some light 4K gaming. 32 GB of fast RAM is just the icing on the cake, as is the price tag.

3. Acer Nitro XV272U W2bmiiprx | 27 inch | 1440p | 240 Hz | 0.5 ms | $299.99 $246.84 at Amazon (save $53.15)

Acer's $200+ 1440p shows its more premium pricer point in an up to 240 Hz refresh rate and up to 0.5 ms response time. Both of these combine to make a very smooth gaming experience. You just need to make sure you have a good enough rig to match the refresh rate with your fps.

You can expect top performance out of this drive, which is impressive for the price. This version without a DRAM cache makes it a little less responsive than the DRAM-equipped NEM-PA model, despite having a slight advantage in stated straight-line performance. Unfortunately, this drive's price is volatile, but it's still one of the better-value 2 TB drives with a heatsink right now.

Let's be upfront about this—8 GB of RAM is not enough in 2024. But when you're talking about a gaming notebook that costs well under $700, with a half-decent RTX 40-series GPU inside it, I can swallow it. Especially when you can easily upgrade the RAM with just a wee screwdriver in hand. And 16 GB of fast dual-channel DDR5 is just $50-odd right now. The RTX 4050 is just a 75 W variant, so not the outright fastest, but will still definitely do the job at 1080p. For this sorta money, that's all you can ask.

Even with new Nvidia laptop GPUs on the way, it'll probably be a while before we see a truly budget mobile RTX 50-series. So for those saving the pennies, this $749 RTX 4060-sporting Lenovo is still a fantastic deal. It's got a decently speedy screen, 16 GB of DDR5, a 115 W TGP GPU, and, err, a very small SSD. Still, it's the easiest thing to upgrade in a mobile machine, and at this price it's very difficult to find more gaming laptop for your buck—and likely will be for a while yet, too.

This is the cheapest RTX 4070 gaming laptop we've seen in quite a while, and a deal that seems to have stuck around over the winter sales. There's a decent gaming CPU, a reasonable amount of dual-channel memory, a speedy screen, and that all important GPU to play with. The 512 GB SSD is small, however, but you can easily upgrade it with the spare NVMe slot inside.

A super-cheap RTX 4070 laptop with a powerful processor—and still a decent deal even with the new laptop GPUs incoming. Sure, the CPU is last-gen, but all of the models at this end of the market tend to be. The 1200p screen and well-sized SSD make this a great pick right now for value for money. Just bear in mind this is its price post-rebate, which is another hoop you'll have to jump through to get the $1,000 price tag.

Lenovo Legion gaming laptops have been excellent performers for a while now, and this one has specs to impress at a very reasonable price. The CPU is a 24-core (8 P-cores/16 E-cores) powerhouse, plus you get a proper 32 GB of RAM to play with. Match that with a 140 W RTX 4070 and a 240 Hz screen and this laptop is virtually flawless for the money. 2 TB of storage would be nice if I was being picky, but 1 TB will do you fine.

OLED. It's the screen tech almost all of us want, but it's pricey. Here, you get a fabulous 120 Hz OLED display in a super-portable 14-inch form factor, making this the perfect size to take on a plane or train. One thing to note though is the 64 W TGP of that RTX 4070, which means you'll need to be leaning on DLSS to bump up those frame rates. Still, a lovely travel companion of a lappy.

It's becoming difficult to find RTX 4080 laptops at a good price now the RTX 50-series is on its way, but this Stealth is still well worth looking at. This is one of MSI's better chassis, and that grunty GPU is paired with a very speedy 1600p 240 Hz screen. The Lenovo below is the better lappy overall for sheer loveliness, but if you can't quite stretch that far, here is where I'd look.

Lenovo's Legion series of laptops have become firm favorites on this page for their fantastic performance, great chassis designs, and sheer overall desirability. This one's specced to the hilt (with the exception of the SSD, which could be larger), and is pretty much the sort of machine 16-inch dreams are made of. It's a big chunk of cash, and we have seen it cheaper—but now RTX 4080 laptops are in short supply, it's still well worth considering.

This is a really good starter PC. The Ryzen 5 5600G's Vega GPU isn't going to get you playing the latest games at high resolutions on its own, but for some lite 720p gaming it should do fine. The main goal here, though, is to have a base that you can upgrade from with a proper discrete GPU down the line. Slap an RTX 4060 or RTX 4060 Ti in there for well under $400 and you've got a fine gaming PC without spending a fortune, and you just need a screwdriver and the will to make it happen.

The Yeyian Tanto fairly often comes in at this budget price range and knocks its competition out the water, and it's done so again here. In a price bracket where you usually have to decide between DDR4 RAM, 512 GB SSDs, or some other sacrifice, the Tanto somehow avoids all that. You're getting a solid entry-level GPU with the 4060, a great budget CPU with the Core i5 13400F, 1 TB of storage, and DDR5 RAM, too. You'll probably want to upgrade to 32 GB of memory and add in a terabyte of storage down the line, but that should be pretty cheap and easy to do.

This RTX 4060 Ti build isn't your normal configuration given its Core i5 13490F CPU and 4800 MT/s DDR5 RAM, but for the price you're getting a damn good deal. Yes, you'll want to upgrade that memory when you can, but I'd rather have 32 GB of slower RAM than 16 GB of fast RAM to kick things off. And the 10-core CPU isn't awful, either. It's a pretty solid all-round budget build that's capable of getting the RTX 4060 Ti up and running for some great 1080p or respectable 1440p gaming.

This is a great option for those of you looking for a powerful build with an AMD GPU. The great thing about the 7800 XT is that you're getting 16 GB of VRAM for a reasonable price. It performs somewhere between the RTX 4070 and 4070 Super, too, so it'll do just fine for 1440p and even some 4K gaming. You're paying a little extra compared to the Tanto RTX 4070 Super build above, but if you want all-AMD this might be the way to go.

The RTX 4070 Super is still—until 50-series cards become more available—probably the gold standard for value in mainstream PC gaming. And the Core i7 14700F is no slouch, either, for productivity and gaming. The RTX 4070 Ti at the heart of this rig is getting into some serious high-end territory, and when paired with the Ryzen 7 7700X makes for a formidable frame-churning machine. This Yeyian build is a bit of a throwback, and not just because it uses an RTX 4080 instead of an RTX 4080 Super. It's also a throwback in terms of price, because it's difficult to find an RTX 4080 or 4080 Super build for $2,000 anymore. And don't worry about it being the non-Super variant, as there's little difference. You're also getting 32 GB of RAM, a great Core i7 CPU, and 2 TB of storage, which is all you need for a solid all-round build.

This is for all you AMD fans out there, as it offers the best currently on offer from the red team—before the imminent RX 9070 and 9070 XT graphics cards, that is. The RX 7900 XTX competes with the RTX 4080 and 4080 Super, and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D packs in sweet 3D V-Cache, and falls second only to its successor, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Throw in the fast RAM and 2 TB of storage and you have a cracking high-end PC, with a rather nice discount I might add.

RTX 5080 graphics cards are hard to come by so soon after launch, so your best bet for grabbing one might be in a pre-built gaming PC such as this one. And while most RTX 5080 gaming PCs are going for above $3,000, this one's sitting nice and alluring at $2,900. 34-inch ultrawide 1440p gaming remains one of our firm favourites. It's a great compromise between lots of detail and decent frame rates. What a difference a letter makes... especially when it comes to gaming monitors. The code names given to monitors are often impenetrable, but the difference between this MAG 321UP and the MAG321UPX is that this one has a 165 Hz refresh instead of 240 Hz. It's a bit heavy, and the software isn't great, but otherwise, this is about as fantastic- sounding a gaming headset as you're ever likely to find—as we found in our 93% review.

Our favorite wireless budget mouse often goes on discount, but this is a still a low price on average for what is a genuinely brilliant wireless squeaker. It's extremely light, it's got one of Logitech's best sensors, and you'll get 200 hours usage out of a single battery. That's a AA unit, mind, although at least that makes it easily swappable. It's not a mouse that's heavy on features, but what its got makes a whole lot of sense.

You need to spend a boatload to get a fancy Razer wireless mouse, right? Wrong. This might not be quite as light as some of its kin, but its still got those lean and mean characteristics that make Razer gaming mice a force to be reckoned with. Samsung's relatively new 990 Evo Plus range has a lot going for it (check out our review) but its launch price was too high. Not enough M.2 NVMe slots on your motherboard for more storage? No problem—you can still install an SSD via a SATA port. This is a decent saving on a 2230 format SSD that performs pretty nicely, as we found when we reviewed the 2 TB version. Crucial's performance claims are very much peak values and the real-world numbers are generally lower, but at this price, it's a great way to boost your Steam Deck's storage and get a handy speed bump. Samsung's external drives have a better recent history than its internal SSDs, so we've no hesitation in recommending the T7 for any professional looking for a large amount of storage that can be safely taken from place to place. They're designed to be rugged and fast, a potent combo. Oh, and they're available in three colors. Don't forget that you'll need to have a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port in your PC to get the best speed.

Crucial is a big name in SSDs, and the Micron-owned brand is offering a small saving on this 2 TB external model. The drive comes in an anodized aluminium shell with a rubberized base and is just 65 x 50 mm big. There's an integrated lanyard hole too, if you want to wear it, which hides a drive activity light.

You might think this is a lot of money for an external SSD, and you'd be right. But that's not to say it's a bad deal. In fact, it's one of the best deals in this list, at around $0.06 per gigabyte. You're paying less, for more. Now I sound like Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang... "the more you buy, the more you save."

If you're putting together an AM5 machine, you'll need some speedy DDR5 RAM. 6000 MHz is the sweet spot for modern AMD chips, so what you're likely looking for is cheap RAM from a respected manufacturer that'll get the job done with aplomb. This is thus. Isn't it nice when things work out simple?

This little Alder Lake chip is far from the newest, but if you're looking to build an Intel PC on a very tight budget for upgrading in future, this will get you started nicely. We rate it very highly for its low power, speedy gaming performance, and huge overclocking potential.

It's not the biggest discount, granted, but if you're trucking on with an elder AM4 machine and looking for an upgrade, the 5800X makes for an inexpensive but still chonky gaming CPU. It doesn't have the fancy 3D-Vcache of the much more potent (and much more expensive) 5800X3D, but it's still a gaming chip capable of pushing plenty of performance through that ageing, but still perfectly respectable socket.

Are you eyeing up one of Nvidia's power-hungry yet super-duper RTX 50-series cards, like the RTX 5090? Want a bit of headroom for future mega-components? This Super Flower unit should be high on your list. It comes from a respected name, and it's got much less chance of going bang than some of the more suspicious brands. A very powerful PSU at a very good price.

Six cores are more than enough for most games, especially when they're as potent as those in this Ryzen 5 9600X (as we found in our review). You really only need more if you like to do lots of content creation tasks, like video editing and offline rendering. As a gaming chip? Yeah, it's got grunt to spare.

Somewhat overpriced at launch, this jack-of-all-trades AM5 CPU is much better value at this price. While it's not the best at gaming nor content creation tasks, the 9900X is still an excellent everyman's choice with huge gobs of power, as you can see in our review.
